HE WAs missing SCHOOL BECAUSE HE HAD NO SHOES
In 2007, a local elementary school teacher
approached the owner of a children's clothing store
to buy a pair of shoes for her student.
The teacher discovered that the reason the child was missing school
was because the child didn't have a pair of shoes to wear.
The store owner donated a pair of shoes to the teacher,
the child returned to school and a
journey to help children in our community began.

"Hopes Closet, you have been a lifesaver for my 3 kids and me. So many nice clothes and even toys! Not sure how my kids would have gotten clothes without you." - Maria O. |
" As a local foster parent for 13 years, I have worked with Hopes Closet since its inception. Often kids who come into care show up late at night with only the clothes on their back and no belongings, sometimes not even shoes. This organization is easily accessible, inclusive, the process is streamlined & volunteers go out of their way to meet the needs of all who they serve." - Luanne S. |
"Hopes Closet has been a lifeline to the Central Coastal California Farmworker Community. I honestly don't know what farmworkers in the area would do without them." - Dr. Ann Lopez Executive Director Center for Farmworker Families |
