How we began

Picture
In 2007, a local teacher contacted the owner of the original children's resale store "Jelli Beanz" that operated where Hopes Closet is today. They were seeking assistance for a student that needed shoes. The teacher was invited to select from the surplus of shoes, clothes, and other children's items that laid unsorted in piles in storage behind the store. Word spread and families in need began to call.

In 2011, Hopes Closet became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to fill a critical gap in the county and since that time has served nearly 21,000 children.
