How we began
Hopes Closet, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Santa Cruz County, was formed in 2011 to address clothing insecurity and provide children from birth to pre-teen the essentials they need to thrive.
In 2021, Hopes Closet expanded its services to include the Hopes Store so families can purchase clothes and other related baby and toddler equipment at up to 70% off retail.
Since 2011, Hopes Closet has provided new and gently used clothing, shoes, socks, underwear, books, and toys to nearly 24,000 children.

Hopes Closet delivers free clothing and basic necessities to children and families from throughout the Santa Cruz County. Hopes Closet now serves children in Monterey County.
